Details

The Stanton-Lerdo Bridge is a four-lane bridge, with three lanes dedicated to southbound privately owned vehicles (POVs) and other non-commercial traffic, pedestrian traffic heading southbound only, and one northbound SENTRI lane, also known as a Dedicated Commuter Lane (DCL).

The current Stanton-Lerdo bridge, completed in 1967, is owned by the City of El Paso on the U.S. side and the Government of México on the Mexican side. However, a bridge has existed here since 1896, and U.S. Customs service began shortly after.
